Embossable Characters

CPI CardGroup is CRB's debit card embosser.

The following are the characters that the CPI will allow to be embossed:

All uppercase alpha characters:    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
All numbers 0 through 9:    0123456789
The following special characters:    . - / $

All other characters will result in a card not being made.

The following are characters that CPI does NOT allow:

Lowercase characters:    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

The list of characters below represents the special characters on standard Microsoft keyboards that are NOT supported by CPI equipment. This may not be a complete list of what is not allowed because many computers have special character sets loaded.
